Motivated Students

With the School year coming to an end, it’s easy for students to feel a sense of “burnout” and a lack of motivation to finish their assignments. For freshman Trevor Leahy, it’s the thought of summer.

Junior Kaileb Gunter speaks with Ryan Warner at the game against Irvin. “This is why I do it,” Kaileb said. “I love the game and always have.”

“I love when the weather gets warmer, especially after winter, it brings a new sense of life to me and makes me focus more on the good things”, Trevor said. “By the time summer comes, I want to be on top of my work so I don’t have to do summer school or makeup for slacking off later, and enjoy my summer.”

Junior Kaileb Gunter wants to play varsity football.

“I’ve been on JV for the last 3 years,”  Kaileb said. I’m making Varsity my senior season, it’s something I’ve been pushing myself for and working towards. Getting god grades is just apart of representing not only the team and organization, but myself. Knowing that I’m good academically is important to me.”

Senior Daniel Hernandez has plans after he graduates.

“School is just a time in my life, it won’t last forever,” Daniel said.”While I’m here I try and make the most of it and push myself to do the best, and try my hardest.”

He plans to join the navy when he graduates.

“I know that pushing myself now is also preparing me for the discipline I will have to maintain when I’m in the military, so I want to prepare myself to be the best in that.”

Trevor has big goals the next three years.

“Since I’m moving this summer, I just have realized school is something I want to really try at,” Trevor said. “My parents are really big motivating factors for me, they always remind me to do my homework and turn my stuff in on time.”

These students have seen the benefits of their efforts.

“I think hard work pays off. As corny as it may sound, while you’re in something you should push yourself to the best of your abilities.” Said Daniel Hernandez.
