The catch up game

The district has been giving the students an excessive amount of work at a time but in a short amount of time. Expecting us to know the material just by learning it once. They give so many tests and quizzes on a topic we have had barely any time to learn anything on the topic at hand. Most teachers and students are stressed over having to learn so much about one topic and then move on to the next in less than a week.

Teachers have been talking about how they are so behind on assignment grades because the district has had us doing such massive amounts of assignments in little time. More students have been struggling to turn things in because of Covid. Covid has made a big impact on the learning process, and it has been stressful and nerve-racking to try and catch up with missed assignments and projects.

It has been extremely difficult to focus on schoolwork at home. The work is hard to do when you have no instruction at home. The assignments get piled on top of each other, and the due dates are not the days that the assignments are done.
The district was handing out a lot of work we haven’t even went over or learned. So, when the test occurs we can’t do anything but guess because we haven’t gone over the assignment and unit that the teacher hasn’t taught yet.
