March Madness is one of the biggest time in sports as more than 6 million people group up on couches in front of TV’s to watch the tournament unravel. People may find this interesting as there are possibilities of low seeded teams to beat teams that people expect to make it far. The Baylor Bears were the team to win it all, which made them only the second Texas team to ever win the tournament. 

James Johnson, father of four children had the pleasure of watching the tournament. 

“I never expected Baylor to come out on top to be honest. I was rooting for them though so I could support my state,” Johnson said. “Me and my kids all made brackets but they got toasted from all the upsets.”  

Baylor was one of the teams that when the tournament started, not many people thought they would make it far. 

“In all honesty I didn’t even have Baylor making it to the final four. It was definitely a shock for me at least but I think they proved that they’ll be contenders from here on out,” senior Jorge Carbajal said. 

“I don’t even really watch college basketball but my mom convinced me to watch it and I thought it was really interesting,” 8th Grader Chris Lopez said. “I think I’m actually interested in watching it next year and seeing what happens.” 

 March Madness is something that has been around for years and is just gathering more attention each year with the additions of new prospects. 

“I’ve been watching March Madness for many years and it’s always something new each year,” said Marcie Lacap, a longtime basketball fan. “Something new and exciting always happens the next year.”
