On Friday, October 17, 2025, due to the government shutdown, the Amigo Airsho was
cancelled. El Pasoans and visitors question the refund situation. The show includes an
entertaining lineup of great performances, including jet teams, F-16 demonstrations, live
bands, STEAM exhibits, and family fun. Friends and families would have experienced the
honorable celebration of operating aircraft with aerial stunts, military and civilian aircraft
displays, and ground attractions.
The event was cancelled just one day before the event was scheduled to take place on
October 18-19.
At the last hour, Ft. Bliss was notified that Airsho’s event at Biggs Field was not approved.
“When I saw the announcement, I was so disappointed” El Pasoan Stephanie Ruiz said. “It
was going to be my first year going”.
Following the cancellation, attendees began raising questions about ticket refunds.
“I feel bad for all those people who were expecting a show,” local resident Miguel
Dominguez said. “I hope they get their money back.”
The organization decided to save the purchased ticket buyers for next year’s MountainStar
Sports Group Amigo Airsho or provide refunds for anyone who wouldn’t be able to make it.
“I’m moving next month so I just need the cash refund.” resident Jessica Ruiz said, “I can’t
wait a whole year for a show I won’t be able to attend.”
The organization states they sent several emails regarding ticket refunds and transfers.
They ask buyers to check the imbox used to purchase the ticket and look for a message
regarding the refund situation.
Next year they plan to welcome back the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and celebrate America’s
250th anniversary. The organization hopes not to disappoint the guests another year and
looks forward to welcoming the Borderland community and visitors to an entertaining
show.
