This week’s advisory schedule has received mixed reactions from students. Many enjoy the hour long lunch, but opinions are mixed when it comes to the extended class periods.
Abrielle Munoz said, “I personally like advisory sometimes. And I think the schedule can be a positive change.” She explained that it works well for finals week and is a good way to start the break. Munoz also mentioned, “I do not mind the longer classes because I enjoy being in my classes.” She said advisory can feel a bit quiet at times, but she has no major issues with it.
Freshman Olivia Rodriguez feels differently. She said the schedule would be better without advisory, explaining that it makes it harder to keep track of time. She described advisory as confusing and said she feels it is a waste of time.
Nyla Johnson said she likes the longer lunch but is unsure about the extended class periods. She added that the schedule does not affect her much and she does not feel strongly about it.
Jackie Nogami said she prefers the hour long lunch because it gives students more time away from class. She said that on Wednesday she planed to spend time with friends, eat, and work on assignments that are due. Nogami added that the extra time is helpful.
Overall, student opinions on the advisory schedule vary, with some appreciating the longer lunch and others struggling with the longer class periods.
