Peanut Butter Fried Bread Recipe

Calling all lovers of peanut butter sandwiches! This recipe is perfect for you. It takes peanut butter sandwiches to the next level. It’s simple to follow and enjoyable for all times and occasions.

Total time to prepare: 25 minutes

You’ll Need…

  • 5 slices of bread (I’ve found white bread tastes the best, but wheat bread works as well)
  • Margarine
  • Crunchy or smooth peanut butter
  • ¼ Cup of roasted and grinded Cashew nuts (Optional)
  • 1 Whole egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Cooking oil to fry
  • Food thermometer or wooden chopstick
  • Powder sugar (Optional)

Directions

  1. Flatten all 5 bread slices with hands or a rolling pin.
  2. Spread the margarine on the bread.
  3. Then spread the peanut butter on the bread.
  4. Sprinkle the cashew nuts (Optional).
  5. In a bowl, whisk the egg with the milk.
  6. Roll the bread into the shape of a cylinder and dip it into the egg wash.
  7. Coat the bread roll with breadcrumbs.
  8. Pour cooking oil into a deep fry pan and heat.
  • To check if the oil is hot enough for frying, put the end of the wooden chopstick into the oil. If the oil starts to bubble steadily, then it is ready to use. If the oil is bubbling very vigorously, then it’s too hot and it needs to cool down. Or heat to 360 degrees Fahrenheit and check with the food thermometer.
  1. Put the rolls into the oil and deep fry the bread until golden brown.
  2. Let the bread cool until it’s warm enough to touch.
  3. Garnish with the powdered sugar or more peanut butter (Optional).
  4. Enjoy with friends and family or with yourself!
