Game Trader- Grim Fandango Remastered
Grim Fandango is a mix of classic crime noir, Mexican tradition, and Aztec folklore. Originally released in 1998 by LucasArts, the game when remastered is still as classic as people had described it less than 20 years ago with the puzzles remaining just as they were originally (not exempting that some were really difficult).
Taking place on the Day of the Dead over the course of four years, this puzzler follows Manny Calavera, a salesman to the dead, as he solves the case of what happened to the rewards that souls had earned in life but didn’t seem to be ringing up for them to receive. Over the course of his journey, Manny makes both friends and enemies as he attempts to not only find one of his clients Meche Colomar but survive hostile encounters with sinister characters, his former coworker, and the mastermind behind the whole operation.
The remastered version didn’t impede on the original story plot, it still remains the same for those that enjoy vintage games. The graphics were greatly improved and were added to new platforms (including iOS, Andriod, and PlayStation). All in all Grim Fandango is a great game that would not be suggested for younger players and would best be played by teens or older. If you enjoy “epic tales of crime and corruption in the land of the dead” then give Grim Fandango a call.
