The school play is starting to come together.
Students and staff are working hard in rehearsals.
They are preparing for opening night.
“We will have a great show,” director Cody Ritchey said.
The play was chosen for its strong story.
It also has many powerful female characters.
Casting was based on singing and acting range.
“We have learned about a third of the show,” Ritchey said.
Students have been practicing for weeks.
They are working on lines and movement.
Music is being learned during separate rehearsals.
“I believe the play will go well,” Chris said.
Chris prepared by practicing his audition song often.
He worked on improving his voice and confidence.
He earned the role of Damian Hubbard.
“I could have practiced with a track instead of singing a cappella,” Chris said.
Joaquin also spent time preparing songs.
He was cast as Aaron Samuels.
He said rehearsals are still developing.
“Everyone is still warming up to each other,” Joaquin said.
Some students feel the play could improve.
They think more confidence will help the group.
They also want tech work to begin soon.
“It can be better if people are more outgoing,” Joaquin said.
The tech crew has not started building yet.
They are still planning and designing the set.
They are also estimating materials and cost.
“The tech side hasn’t started yet, but it will turn out well,” Chris said.
Overall, the cast is making progress.
There is still work to be done.
Students remain hopeful for opening night.
“We will have a great show,” Ritchey said.
