Girls’ basketball season started October 19th and the team has already claimed winning titles. On November 22nd, the girls’ varsity defeated Bel Air 68-22. More recently the girls are playing in the Franklin Tournament December 1-3.  

Each of the girls have their own reasons for playing the game, but more specifically they are influenced by their family. 

 “When I was younger, I would always play with my brothers, and I started loving the game. Now I’ve been playing for five years.” sophomore Ja’Zaya Valadez said. 

The team is ready for all the upcoming games, but also being able to share those victories with their fellow players.  

“I look forward to being undefeated with the team and making memories with the girls,” sophomore Isa Armijo said. 

The girls have nothing but positive things to say about one another and the team overall. 

“My favorite part of Chapin’s basketball team is the team itself,” freshman Calysha Jackson said. “They all have great attitudes.”
