As bases were loaded Devon Soto took his last stretch to home plate. “I knew there was no going back so I ran as fast as could and made it with time to spare,” senior Devon Soto said.Power at the plate. After having a great game pitching, Nathan Hurtado made sure it was not a one-sided game for himself. “I was focused on trying to make contact with the ball to make sure my teammate on third got home,” sophomore Nathan Hurtado said.Communication is key. On March 19, sophomore Nathan Hurtado pitched all 7 innings with a total of 87 pitches. This would propel the team to win 9-1 against Cathedral.Winning faces and all. After beating Cathedral 9-1 in the home opener, the only right move was to celebrate the victory. “We’ve been waiting for that home game all year long,” senior Raymundo Hurtado said. “We all knew we were gonna get that win.”
