Senior Week is meant to celebrate the Class of 2026 with activities and transitions before graduation, but students say the events have become more of a reason to skip class rather than to participate.
The week begins with the Senior Breakfast on June 1st at 9 a.m., followed by the Senior Walk on June 2nd. Graduation Practice will take place on June 3rd, the Senior Assembly on June 4th, and Senior Gifts and Yearbook Signing on June 5th.
“I am excited to celebrate with my friends and family,” said senior Aidan Bravo “We get to enjoy our last moments being here.”
While many students are excited about the activities, others admit they are mainly looking forward to getting out of class.
“All of the events start early,” said senior Layla Anguiano “I might not want to get up just so I can get some sleep”
Teachers and administrators still hope the events help seniors enjoy their final memories together before graduation. A mix of students are participating fully in the activities, while others are simply enjoying the lighter schedule during their last week on campus.
“Seniors are just happy they don’t have to do work,” said senior Joanna Chavez “The events are fun, but a lot of students are using the week as a break from school especially cause summers around the corner.”
Even with mixed plans, Senior Week will hold the last events before graduation for the Class of 2026.
