Students got purpled for military child appreciation month. Purple was seen throughout the halls, in class rooms, and in the busses.
“I wore purple 3 times that week,” junior Linette Navarro said. “I put my pin where I used to live on the map.”
STUCO passed out purple gear, cup cakes, root beers, and planed activities for military child appreciation week. Military students participated in putting pins on the map and getting free rooter floats and cupcakes.
“I felt a bit appreciated during spirit week,” junior Jianna Winquist said. “I went to turn in my ID for a root beer float.”
A few students were completely unaware of events like showing there ID’s for root beer floats or cupcakes. They failed to hear about the event’s on the announcements.
“I didn’t hear anything about them giving away stuff,” junior Dominic Anderson said. “I just heard them say happy military appreciation week.”
Students also did some activities on base with family and friends. There were parades and activities set up for military child appreciation week all over fort bliss.
“At the youth center the gave us snacks,” freshman Valeria Cruz said. “My friends went to a parade on base but I couldn’t make it.”
