Color guard hired a new choreographer to help with next year’s show. Kendall Uribe is an experienced guard member and was working with Irvin marching band.
“I think she will affect the guard positively,” junior Dominic Anderson said. “She’s a good teacher and has experience with other teams.”
Kendall Uribe is choreographing the spring concert guard performance. She is going to show case weapons, flag, swings and dance.
“I think choreography will get harder with Kendall,”sophomore Kayla Creel said. “This will give me a chance to learn and get better.”
She is pushing the guard to do more advanced skills. Guard members are divided on how well they think Kendalls choreography will be. Guard captain sophomore Nat Barrera feels Kendall that her choreography is to advance for them to learn before the spring concert.
“It feels like she’s choreograph just to choreograph,” Nat said. “She’s not keeping our skill sets in mind.”
Kendall’s choreography is more advanced than what the guard is already doing. Even so, the Blue Ribbon Guard was practicing two to three nights a week to learn her choreography in time for the spring concert.
“Her choreography is a bit hard,” junior Danna Rodriguez said. “But, I will practice more and I will learn the choreography.”
