As girl’s flag football continues to gain popularity, players are not only making moves on the field but the girls are sharing their thoughts on the gear.
The girls appreciate the design of the team’s uniforms, especially when it comes to comfort and performance.
“One thing I like about the flag football jerseys is that they’re lightweight and breathable, the material doesn’t feel heavy or restrictive, which is great when running,” sophomore Jizelle Valera said.
However the team has added that one thing they dislike is that they only came in two sizes—medium and small.

“Although I do wish the pants were a bit shorter because they are long,” sophomore Abigail Sanchez said.

Highlighting the importance of fitting athletic wear for the girls performance and comfort, the girls are focusing more on the team experience.
“Flag football has helped me build confidence and connect with other girls who love the game,” sophomore Judith Sanchez said.
“I’ve learned a lot about teamwork, discipline, and pushing myself outside my comfort zone especially joining this new sport,” Abigail Sanchez said.
Despite minor uniform concerns, the team have played two games so far losing both of them. They will continue playing more games hopefully bringing a win. Interest in the sport show that female flag football is not just a trend is becoming an actual sport in some states.
