As the school semester is coming to an end, students with failing assignments are trying to get their grades to pass before the Christmas break. Here, some students tell their side of the story about why they are rushing to get passing grades.
“I am really worried about if I am going to be taking the same class next year,” freshman Hector Sifuentes said. “ Compared to middle school, we have a lot more work than usual.”
For Sifuentes, he has the same response as some of the other students trying to pass.
Despite his grades, Sifuentes has hope that he will get his assignments done on time to get a good grade. Other students, like freshman Gael Gutierrez, are confident that his grades will be above passing by the break.
“I know that I was capable of doing the assignments on time but I’m just lazy.” Gutierrez said. “Even though I did my assignment late, and that I probably won’t get the full credit because I turned it in late, I think that I will be passing.”
Gutirrez showed us occasionally his grades as they have been slowly going up in average, and he also says that next semester that he doesn’t want to end up in the same situation as he is in currently.
Freshman student Gabriel Juarez, has been a person that has been asked to help people out with their late work.
“ It’s getting a little annoying that so many people are asking me for help because I have really good grades,” Gabriel said. “I just want to do my own thing and not be constantly asked to do other people’s work.”
Unlike other people, Gabriel says that he tries to get the highest possible grade on assignments even going after school to re-do them and tries not to wait till the last minute and get it done as soon as possible
As the year is coming to an end, Gabriel helps fellow classmates with their assignments to pass like Hector and Gael turning in work quickly to get a passing grade.
