As winter break approaches, Chapin High School students prepare for rest and reflection. Their plans, from festive gatherings to personal projects, highlight a mix of traditions and goals. This time of year offers a chance to step away from the pressures of school and focus on meaningful activities.
“I’m hosting my grandparents for Christmas,” said senior Desmond Petty. “It has been a tough year, so it’ll be nice to celebrate together.” Sophomore Alejandro Celaya said, “We’re doing a game night with family and friends. It’s simple but fun.”
For some, winter break is also about exploring personal interests and taking on new challenges. Sophomore Isreal Aguilar plans to try baking. “I want to make desserts for my family’s holiday dinner,” he shared. Sophomore Jagger Platt is excited to start playing video games with his friends again. “I’ve been pretty busy during the semester,” he said. “Now I can finally reconnect with them.”
The break provides a perfect opportunity to recharge and reset before the new semester. “Honestly, I’m just going to chill,” said sophomore Sergio Urbin. “I need a break from all the school stress.”
Whether they’re spending time with loved ones, developing new skills, or simply relaxing, Chapin High School students enthusiastically embrace the holiday season. From reconnecting with family to pursuing passions, this winter break promises to be both restful and rewarding.
