Football is a game of passion, power, and precision, but it is also a sport where injury looms as a constant threat. Players who once played on the field often face life-altering challenges after a sudden injury. Today that is what my topic is about.
“I felt normal, I did not feel my injury at first” said Offensive lineman Leonardo Rodriguez “After the game I felt all the pain rush to my arm and I could not move it, the pain of the arm injury on a scale of 1-10 was most definitely a 10.” said Leonardo after affirming what injury he was talking about.
Players often realize they will eventually get injured while playing the game they love.
That was Running back Fabian Emanuel Ortiz’s case. He said, “I felt great before my injury, I felt capable of doing things that I can do now,” when asked if he was scared during his injury, he mentioned “No I did not think that it was scary when I first got injured, but I was also aware that I would eventually get injure. Then i thought that it would take time, and I needed to be patient”
Approximately 67,000 player injuries per year are found to be concussions.
“We can talk about the concussion” said Corner-back and safety Adrian Lopez. “At first, I was like, is this really happening? Am I hurt? Is this real, and once I knew it was real I knew that I would need to find a way to get better to play the game that I love” mentioned Adrian when he first got the feeling of a concussion.
According to the NCAA the most common injury in football is a sprained ankle.
“I was actually doing pretty good I was making plays; I played with no fear” said Corner and safety Dayvhen Lupica. “I thought that my ankle was broken at first because it was crocked, and I was scared that I was not going to be able to finish off the season.”
