The event on Wednesday, May 22, where seniors played against faculty in a basketball game, was a special occasion that brought the school community together, promoting fun and school spirit.
“I really enjoyed seeing our favorite teachers and coaches play basketball it was so funny to watch, and it made the audience laugh,” sophomore John Bokako said. “We were all intrigued to see what was going to happen next going back and forth between them both shooting crazy shots that had us all going nuts.”
Seeing a lot of excited energy between students in the bleachers and the players on the court. Students would cheer every time a shot was made and laugh whenever someone hilariously fumbled the ball or missed horribly.
“It was very funny watching them try to dunk on each other and then blocked and end up losing the ball,” freshman Zachary Wilson said. “I enjoyed watching the volleyball coach Joe Morales because he carried the faculty team the whole time.”
Jayden Leverett, a surprise guest from the stands, ran onto the court mid game and dunked the ball making the crowd go wild. The dunk counted as 12 points for the teachers. Also, the refs were counting bonus points on each shot depending on who scored, and even called some ridiculous fouls.
“This was crazy although Jayden wasn’t a senior I wish he was playing seeing that dunk sent chills to the crowd,” John said. “The refs were hilarious they were doing everything and ref the game they were talking to the crowd, dancing, and calling fouls that weren’t even fouls.”
Final score ending 62-59 with the teachers taking the win over the seniors. Students saying this was the best event yet of all of them.
“This was definitely the most exciting event the whole time it was just pure comedy and joy for everyone,” Zachary said. “The crowd, the game, the refs, and the people made this event the best and I know this event will just keep getting better every year.”
