One-hour lunches awarded to student body

Recently there was an announcement that if a certain percentage of registration was made students would get rewarded. The reward was having one-hour lunches which were on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. The idea of this was to get the registration percentage higher but to also test out how the hour lunches are going to work since next year there will only be one lunch.

Many students liked the idea of having a longer lunch especially the ones that go out during lunch.

“I didn’t feel rushed to go get food and I had time to eat it too,” sophomore Ava Dennis said.

Although many students did go walking to get food because they had time, they had to be careful with all the cars and traffic just to get to Whataburger.

“I was at the light, and I saw a big group of people just walking down dyer,” senior Bryzsa Samble said.

The one-hour lunches seemed successful, and students thought it was more convenient, but for students who stayed for lunch it was packed in the cafeteria.

“On a regular lunch day the cafeteria is full, but this time I didn’t even know where to sit,” sophomore Londyn Meade said.

This one-hour lunch is a good idea because students won’t feel rushed whether they go out to eat or stay at school.

“I didn’t think I was going to like having to go to lunch with underclassmen but it wasn’t that bad,” junior Michelle Lozano said.
