Campus receive attendance award

Student Council accepting their attendance awards for the 2022-2023 school year. “School is my top priority so being here every day is something important to me and my education,” Sophomore Ava Dennis said.

Students received an award for having good attendance. The superintendent herself came to the school, but none of the teachers were aware she was coming. According to student council they were in class when their sponsor, Julie Oshiro, asked them to go out from class.

“I didn’t know we were getting an award till they told us to go,” junior Savannah Zamora said.

The students found out we got an award from Instagram when they posted about it. According to the post she delivered treats and some coupons from community sponsors. Students show up to class but even on time due to random tardy sweeps.

“All the tardy sweeps payed off since we got an award for having good attendance,” sophomore Londyn Meade said.

Many teachers felt like they should’ve gotten a heads up that the superintendent was coming but her visit was unexpected. The superintendent came to praise for our commitment on showing up to class.

“I didn’t even know about the award or that she was at our school till the next day,” senior Brysza Samble said.

Even though her visit was unaware of they did let us know the next day about the award.

“They should’ve told us the same day since we are the ones showing up to class,” junior Michelle Lozano said.
