Students have lost eligibility due to grades dropping, which means that all UIL events and sports get suspended till re-eligibility is gained.

“I have lost eligibility for 6 games in softball till I am able to bring up my grade,” sophomore Crystal Velarde said.

The regaining of eligibility takes place April 13 if all classes are passed with seventy or above.

“I failed because of how busy I was with baseball that I didn’t really have time for the actual work itself,” sophomore Osvaldo Marquez said.

Students that missed school to be part of sport activities, and spring break have been the most affected.

“I feel like I took the student athlete before the actual student which affected me the most because I was too concerned in getting good in my skills then grades,” sophomore Michael Salas said.

The loss of eligibility affects many different school organizations because they participation from students. Although students that take AP or Dual credit classrooms don’t have to worry about eligibility lost.

“I was freaking out because I failed my dual credit class but then I remember that those do not take you out of eligibility,” junior Armani Martin said.
