Dresscode
Dress code has been a problem in schools for years. Crop tops and ripped jeans were the main problems. Recently we got a new dress code and leggings were added. This caused the amount of people dress coded to go up. A survey was conducted where I asked people if they have been dress coded and 7 out of 10 have been dress coded.
Leggings have been a huge problem in dress code, students don’t understand why they cant wear them.
“I have been dress coded multiple times for leggings said,” senior Mia Rosales. “I Don’t see the problem with leggings.”
Ripped jeans have also been a huge problem. Students continue to wear ripped jeans with huge holes.
“It’s hard to find jeans without rips,” said senior Karolyna Sanchez. “I try to wear ones with little rips but most jeans have rips all over.”
Crop tops are the biggest problem with dress code. Girls wear shirts that most of the time show even a little bit of their midriff.
“I go to the store to buy shirts and 90% of them are crop tops,” said senior Kayla Philips. “Crop tops are in and its hard to find cute shirts that are full length.”
The dress code doesn’t affect males as much as it does females. Males have opinions on the dress code as well.
“I think its bad because people should be able to dress freely,” said senior Luis Manajarez. “Some people also don’t have clothes to fit the dresscode.”
Males also think the dress code is one sided.
“I think the dress code is sexist and one sided towards girls, said preston. They put many rules on girls and guys don’t have any.” sophomore Preston Chase said.
