MacBook Update
With the start of the new semester some students like Juniors Parker Wancho, Lucas Pedigo, and Ismael Herrera, were informed by an email that they needed to take their laptops to Sally Blackmon who’s in charge of the bookroom.
“After a week I received my laptop and realized that it would turn off or close the tab or document I was working on,” Lucas Pedigo said. Sally Blackmon gave Ismael Herrera an EPISD-issued tablet. “The tablet isn’t a good replacement for my laptop but if it’s the only thing that they have it will be fine for now, but it would be nice to have my laptop back in a short time,” Ismael said.
After almost 2 weeks, students Lucas Pedigo, Ismael Herrera, and Scottie Paige were handed their laptops back in the bookroom. These students realized that their computers didn’t have their work or the documents that they saved.
“I was mad because I had a project that I had been working on for some weeks but when I tried looking for it on my desktop it was gone,” Scottie Paige said. “When I tried explaining it to my teacher that I had it but that when I turned my laptop in for fixing it disappeared.”
Although some teachers didn’t care about the situation others were understanding of it, some of these teachers were physics teacher Benjamin Dominguez and Spanish teacher Luis Malgdonado.
“I know some of my students were having issues with their laptops, but I never thought that their work would be lost,” Dominguez said.
