“Schedule changes are very hectic because you have to learn because you have to learn stuff that everyone has been learning already.”, Shiann Sample said. Every year, after the first semester students get their schedule changed for the next semester.

“It is beneficial for the students if they need to get out of the class because the people or the class was too hard or that the class was too easy for them.”, Katherine Woodruff said. Students can get their schedule changed if they ask for it or their credits are too low.

“Maybe pre-introduce us to the class before you jump into the class, because they did not really go into detail about what I will be doing.”, Shiann Sample said. Shiann went from a P.E. class to Yearbook 1 class, she had to catch up quickly.

“Schedule changes could be harmful by switching the student’s class from a high achievement class to a low achievement class.”, Xavi Antunez said. Xavi gives an example of high achievement classes like AP History and low achievement classes as normal World history.

“It is hard for the teachers for the grades and to relearn the new students and teach them from the start. It is beneficial for the students if they need to get out of the class because the people or the class was too hard or that the class was too easy for them.”, Katherine said. The first week back from winter break is confusing for some students.

“I ended up missing the schedule change at the start of the year so I couldn’t take it. They picked it for me based on my schedule last year.”, Katherine said. If the students miss the meeting to pick their classes for next year.

“… but the counselors don’t like it when you change your schedule for no reason.”, Katherine said. The counselors only allow a certain amount of schedule changes, and you can’t just change your schedule without a good reason.
