What summer is looking like for students

According to the El Paso Times establishments will start opening up again, places like Wet n Wild, El Paso Zoo, Western Playland, and community pools will open up again with certain capacities they have to follow. With the school year coming to an end, students like senior Jesus Galindo cannot help but think ahead to summer plans and made one at northeast el paso summer attraction Camp Cohen.  

“It looks Pretty interesting,” Jesus said. “I’m glad they finished it in time for summer.” 

There are activities that are opening this summer from being shut down due to Covid-19 last year that has students excited for summer. 

Students like senior Jesus Rodriguez are excited to have swimming pools open this summer.  

“Last summer we didn’t get to go swimming because of covid getting really bad,” Jesus said. “But this year they are opening up all of the public swimming pools, so I can’t wait!”

Students like senior Bobby Hernandez feel cautious about the activities that are being opened and the new safety regulations. 

“The mask mandate has already been lifted here in Texas,” Bobby said. “what if people infected are in these crowds going to summer activities without masks?” 

Students like senior Isaac Duron have mixed emotions regarding summer 2021.  

“I don’t think it’s going to be like it used to be,” Isaac said. “Lots of things will most likely be restricted and not as fun.” 

Other students like senior Benny Sanchez feel like staying at home would be the best option for him. 

“Staying home would be better for me,” Benny said. “It would keep me and my family safe.”
