All smiles during senior night! During senior night on November 8, number 7, Syree Niple is walking with his family. When he was announced you saw him laughing and giggling with family.
Welcome Home surprise! On senior night November 8, for Chapin football, Senior Nathan Herndon’s sister, Unity, made a surprise welcome home as she was serving in the Middle East on tour for the United States Navy. Surprised is an understatement. “I was totally caught off guard, I had no idea she was home,” Nathan said. “Felt in disbelief and joy, it was a great surprise.”
Showing off his pride. During senior night, number 17, Atamu Erickson is seen walking with his family. He had all sorts of leis and decorations wrapped around his neck simply signifying how proud his family were of him. “I felt a sense of relief and peace with football and myself,” Atamu said. “I was honestly just so proud of how far I came.”
Close call! Working on offense, senior Daveon Singleton missed a pass from quarterback, number 10, Evan Rivera. It was an important game to solidify their playoff spot, defeating Hanks 61-20.
What a catch! Too start off the game, number 14, Jose Solorio caught an amazing throw from the quarterback, Evan Rivera. This catch would set the tone for the rest of the game.
Defending that defense! Teamwork is definitely the dream-work on defense. Number 11, Terrance Hall, and 90, Mark Rudolph help each other out by tackling an offense-man.
Oh nothin’ much. Starting the first quarter off right with a sack from senior, Atamu Erickson taking down number 12 from Hanks. That take down obviously needed a good celebration.
Touchdown! During the 3rd quarter number 13, Julian Delgado scored a touchdown and did a celebratory jump with number 14, Jose Solorio. This would help them to defeat Hanks 61-20.
That’s lights out! As senior night came to a close underclassmen, Cameron and Andrea reflected on the amazing football season. “A truly memorable moment,” Cameron said. “Being surrounded by friends as we cheered on the team during senior night.”
A door closing is just another one opening. Senior night definitely brings a close such as Vivian Herrera cheering for football in her high school career. “I’m forever grateful to be able to cheer here for the last four years,” Vivian said. “Happy for what’s to come!”
