Filling the air with school spirit, the band performs the fight song to bring the spring pep rally to a triumphant close. The auditorium was packed with energy as musicians from every section played together to celebrate the end of the event. “Ending the rally with the fight song is always my favorite part because it brings everyone together,” junior Josh Favela said. “You can really feel the pride in the room when the whole school is cheering along with the music we’re playing.”

Smiling as she speaks to the crowd, senior Aahniyah Clayton shares her pride in the track and field program during the spring pep rally. Standing in the center of the gym floor, band director Mike Peck takes a moment to express his sincere gratitude to the parents for their unrelenting support throughout the busy school year. During his speech at the spring pep rally, Peck celebrated the program’s recent success at the EPISD Jazz Festival and looked ahead to the upcoming Jazz Hanks Fest. “Our students have put in so much work, but we couldn’t do any of this without the parents who cheer us on every step of the way,” Peck said. “As we approach the end of the year, I’m excited to invite everyone to our final concert to see just how much these musicians have grown since August.

Taking the microphone with confidence, senior Beckett Babb addresses the gathered students and faculty to reflect on the immense dedication required for a standout baseball season. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with his teammates on the gym floor, Babb highlighted the grueling practices and the collective effort that truly defined their time together on the field this spring.

Laughing with excitement, Sophomore Kamila Melendez watches as fellow band member Gianmarco Bloise loses his footing during a high-stakes game of musical chairs. The event featured several friendly competitions between students to boost school spirit before the spring season. “I was trying so hard to get to the chair first that I just completely slipped,” Bloise said. “It was embarrassing, but seeing everyone laughing and having a good time made it one of my favorite memories from the rally.”
