The Chapin JV soccer girls warm up to their favorite warm up playlist to get into the focused mindset. Freshman Bridgett Garcia number 15 says, “We like to listen to Shakira while we warm up.”
Coach Cody Logsdon gathers with the referee and captains Sophomores Harper Krattiger, Yaindhy Salas-Ponce, and Danna Suarez. To decide on the game ball and discuss the time to start the game. Coach Cody Logsdon explains, “Since it was senior night, we had to plan on starting our game earlier in order to have time for senior night before the varsity game.”
The team huddles and does their routinely prayer to start the game with motivation. Their prayer consists of the words”Dear lord we pray, that we may play a nice clean game and win, but if you choose to let us lose, keep us from giving in, Amen.” with additional words to add on to the prayer.
Junior Judith Sanchez reaches for the ball while the Canutillo player braces for impact. “I didn’t mean to do that, I was a little too far from the ball, so it looked like I was aiming for her legs which causes a foul but I wasn’t!” Judith says.
